Thanks to all who showed up on Saturday for the races. No Mini Sprints, Dwarfs or Pro Stocks this weekend but the racing was still fast and entertaining. We had nine in the Mini Stock Class as well as the Bombers Class and Only 2 showed for the Street Stock Class. Lots going on in the area this weekend with the Fair in Bishop and people taking advantage of the long weekend off to do some of those weekend duties that needed to be done.
It rained like crazy Friday night, but the track didn’t even get a sprinkle. The track was in great shape for the nights events with little water needed to maintain dust control. Cars were going fast and one even tried to fly, #2 Mini. Only one good wreck during the main events with #96, Cole Shrider, kissing the wall right at the steps. I think he was thirsty for a Gatorade. This event brought out the rare use of the Red Flag. He was unable to complete the race due to a misalignment problem.
The Bombers put on a good show with 3 wide going thru turn one with #69, # X13 and #9. X13 and 9 failed to keep it on the track and went on a sightseeing tour on the back side bring out the yellow. #69 suffered a flat and all were at the back of the pack on the restart.
Only 2 cars for the Street Stock class, #J21 Keith Beall and #76 Matt Gillium. Matt was away this weekend so Ed Stidham took the car for a run around the Track.
We will be racing again this weekend, September 12th, so come out to the track and check out the action. Who knows, maybe you will get the bug too.
